Traveling Bonnet

Rayn brought my coveted prize--the green bonnet.
A bunch of my granddaughters took turns wearing it during our Mother's Day Breakfast.

Lady's Pony

Early Saturday morning we heard someone knocking on the back door. Chuck found Bryn on the porch asking for help. She said that Lady had a baby and they couldn't get the baby to eat any grain.
What excitement!
Lady is a mustang horse that Uncle Reed bought years ago at a BLM wild horse sale.
She has been in our back field for several years eating the pasture grass. This is the first pony she has had (in captivity at least).
The grandkids are quite sad that Hirschi's get the pony and not us. Richard's stallion is the daddy of the pony so that's why they get her. Who came up with that rule of doing things anyway? Just so Reed and Richard are good with it I guess.
Back to the grain story. I think that Sara was in the field trying to get Lady to come eat out of the grain bucket so that she could get close enough to identify the sex of the pony. Being the protective mother, Lady didn't let Sara or the kids get close.

It's been a year now since we all posted our tributes on your new blog. Another year of watching you being patient with the Grandkids, helping me solve my problems, pulling together family get togethers, making sure we're all taken care of, being a good example to us all, and supporting us in whatever we are doing. Bryn's Day

Bryn was baptized last Saturday, May 2nd. Angie invited us over after for a brunch.
I missed getting many good people pix, but I got a lot of food shots.
It was a happy day.

Cinco De Mayo

Chuck's calling is the Spanish Branch. This afternoon and evening was Cinco De Mayo festivities. To end the activities we had a big Spanish dinner and program at the Hurricane Stake Center.
During dinner I turned to Chuck and asked, "Can you believe that we are in Hurricane"?
Prophecy is being fulfilled right here in Southern Utah.

May Day Ride

With about an hours notice, Chuck & I packed up and headed North on I15 to the Browse exit. We parked, unloaded the Rhinos and headed off into the cedar trees.

10 varieties of wild flowers were showing off for us.

We followed Laron under the freeway and towards Pine Valley Mountain.

This is one of the few places on the trail without rocks--I mean big rocks. Chuck and I got stuck on a boulder and had to dig out and then Chuck and Laron used their muscles and backs to get the boulder off the road. I accidentally deleted that pix.
