Road Trip

Thursday Chuck and I headed for his Lund hideout.
We took a futon and hung drapes.

Next work project will be counter tops and sink and stove.

After watering trees and chasing off a coyote,
we took the dirt road to Cedar then up Highway 14 to the cabin

This is a sampling of how the leaves are putting on a show right now over Cedar Mountain.

This is where the deer and antelope roam in herds. Antelope were in Lund too, but they were one by one.

When we woke up this morning we named about 3 things we could do. We chose going to Panguitch and we were glad we did.

We went to see Garret's new house and took a good pix of his old truck.

Dice VS Valium

When life gets hectic and stress mounts up, it's good to let your hair down and shake it up with friends. BUNKO at Chani's tonight was a good time. She had Cafe Rio type salads ready for us.
It was a lucky night for me. I brought the Bunko prize home.

We have a Rook challenge at our house. Chuck and I used to be able to get a higher score than the kids. Now we've mentored 6 other couples that like to whomp us!
The green 13 might look like it weakens his hand, but Shella had the green 14.

The Canadian--US Border shaved into the mountain side
We camped in Idaho, Montana, and Canada.
Experienced Banff, Jasper/Whistler & Watertown Lakes Canadian Nat'l Parks.
Drove through gorgeous farmlands and countrysides in the US.
Just short of 2 weeks we headed for home.

RV Trip

It took about double time to get to Idaho because of the stops we made. We stopped in Beaver for curd cheese. Cabella's at Thanksgiving Point was exciting for the men. This is a pix of Chuck in the aquarium section. So many fresh water fish--we couldn't name them all. These are the little ones.


The next day we drove through Idaho Falls and a lot of beautiful farm country to get to Victor, Idaho, where we stayed in another RV park. We drove 24 miles to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where we rode the tram/gondola to the top of the world (eye level with the Grand Teton).
We also went to the Bar J Wrangler's Dinner and show.

Yep, we're having fun traveling the rural highways and the freeways, seeing the beautiful summer scenery in a caravan. I'll post again when I get a few minutes and the internet at the same time. I'd better get the corn off the stove and head down for another pot luck supper.
We spent today in Banff. Can you believe it?
We're trying to come up with a name for us. Any ideas? Not just for this group of 6 couples, but for anyone that wants to tag along too.

De Plane! De Plane! Anticipation

This is part of the crowd waiting at the St George airport this afternoon for the 4:22 pm flight from SLC. A plane landed at about the right time and we all got excited. As the passengers unloaded, we kept expecting Zach to be the next one coming down the stairs. Finally the pilots came off and we were worried. Turned out it was the plane from Los Angeles so we got all anxious all over again and the Skywest plane zoomed by so fast on the runway that we thought it might go over the edge of the runway. Our handsome missionary did step out of that plane and we were ever so joyful to see him.

KRYSTI

Krysti Lyn Forsyth June 23, 2009 ST. GEORGE - Krysti Lyn Forsyth, age 42, passed from this earth life on June 19, 2009. Krysti was born the second of eight children to Joseph Allen Walker and Bonnie G. Curtis on February 17, 1967 in Lakeview, Oregon. Krysti married Bryan J. Forsyth in the St. George LDS Temple on August 26, 1986. Krysti spent her early years in West Valley, Utah. In 1976, Krysti moved with her family to New Harmony, Utah. From her parents, and in that gentle community, Krysti was shown great love. This love and understanding made a significant impact on her life and she tried to share that same love and understanding with all she met. Krysti was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and felt a special bond between her and the young women she mentored during her 13 years in Hurricane, Utah. Krysti was passionate about art and interior design. This passion was reflected in her furniture refinishing, oversize clock making, and her oil paintings. Krysti is survived by her husband, Bryan J. Forsyth and her three children; Zachary, Brenna, and Anna. She is also survived by her father, Joseph Allen (Marleen)Walker; four brothers and three sisters: Charles S. (Melissa) Walker, Margaret (Curtis) Anderson, Jeanette (Darren) Woolsey, Matthew (Kami) Walker, Jacob (Tiffany) Walker, Benjamin (Teri) Walker, and Sandra (Michael) Brunson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie G. Walker. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS 8th Ward Chapel, 155 East 1050 North, Hurricane, Utah. Visitations will be Tuesday, June 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 N. Main St., Hurricane, Utah and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel, prior to services. Interment will at the Hurricane City Cemetery. Krysti is Zach's (Shella's missionary) mother and our precious friend. Her unexpected death happened at Girl's Camp last Friday morning. Zach was scheduled to come home August 6th. After careful thought and prayer, his mission president emailed a new itinerary and he flies home today from Brazil. We are so happy to see Zach, and so heartbroken at the same time. We are depending on the Lord to have a plan for all of this. The Gospel is true ! We are so grateful for temple marriage and eternal families.
