It took about double time to get to Idaho because of the stops we made. We stopped in Beaver for curd cheese. Cabella's at Thanksgiving Point was exciting for the men. This is a pix of Chuck in the aquarium section. So many fresh water fish--we couldn't name them all. These are the little ones.


The next day we drove through Idaho Falls and a lot of beautiful farm country to get to Victor, Idaho, where we stayed in another RV park. We drove 24 miles to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where we rode the tram/gondola to the top of the world (eye level with the Grand Teton).
We also went to the Bar J Wrangler's Dinner and show.

Yep, we're having fun traveling the rural highways and the freeways, seeing the beautiful summer scenery in a caravan. I'll post again when I get a few minutes and the internet at the same time. I'd better get the corn off the stove and head down for another pot luck supper.
We spent today in Banff. Can you believe it?
We're trying to come up with a name for us. Any ideas? Not just for this group of 6 couples, but for anyone that wants to tag along too.

De Plane! De Plane! Anticipation

This is part of the crowd waiting at the St George airport this afternoon for the 4:22 pm flight from SLC. A plane landed at about the right time and we all got excited. As the passengers unloaded, we kept expecting Zach to be the next one coming down the stairs. Finally the pilots came off and we were worried. Turned out it was the plane from Los Angeles so we got all anxious all over again and the Skywest plane zoomed by so fast on the runway that we thought it might go over the edge of the runway. Our handsome missionary did step out of that plane and we were ever so joyful to see him.

KRYSTI

Krysti Lyn Forsyth June 23, 2009 ST. GEORGE - Krysti Lyn Forsyth, age 42, passed from this earth life on June 19, 2009. Krysti was born the second of eight children to Joseph Allen Walker and Bonnie G. Curtis on February 17, 1967 in Lakeview, Oregon. Krysti married Bryan J. Forsyth in the St. George LDS Temple on August 26, 1986. Krysti spent her early years in West Valley, Utah. In 1976, Krysti moved with her family to New Harmony, Utah. From her parents, and in that gentle community, Krysti was shown great love. This love and understanding made a significant impact on her life and she tried to share that same love and understanding with all she met. Krysti was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and felt a special bond between her and the young women she mentored during her 13 years in Hurricane, Utah. Krysti was passionate about art and interior design. This passion was reflected in her furniture refinishing, oversize clock making, and her oil paintings. Krysti is survived by her husband, Bryan J. Forsyth and her three children; Zachary, Brenna, and Anna. She is also survived by her father, Joseph Allen (Marleen)Walker; four brothers and three sisters: Charles S. (Melissa) Walker, Margaret (Curtis) Anderson, Jeanette (Darren) Woolsey, Matthew (Kami) Walker, Jacob (Tiffany) Walker, Benjamin (Teri) Walker, and Sandra (Michael) Brunson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie G. Walker. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS 8th Ward Chapel, 155 East 1050 North, Hurricane, Utah. Visitations will be Tuesday, June 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 N. Main St., Hurricane, Utah and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel, prior to services. Interment will at the Hurricane City Cemetery. Krysti is Zach's (Shella's missionary) mother and our precious friend. Her unexpected death happened at Girl's Camp last Friday morning. Zach was scheduled to come home August 6th. After careful thought and prayer, his mission president emailed a new itinerary and he flies home today from Brazil. We are so happy to see Zach, and so heartbroken at the same time. We are depending on the Lord to have a plan for all of this. The Gospel is true ! We are so grateful for temple marriage and eternal families. I"ve been with Emily and her family for a week. It's been so fun to be with our Wyoming kids! I've tried to post before, but my little computer gave me some message about "cookies" not being set right. Now on this last morning when I should be packing, it decides I can sign on after all.
I've found my way around Cheyenne with Emily's direction notes and the navigation system in her new wheels. I've been her shuttle service and have decided it's another career I could fall back on if I need to.
I've had time to go to bed early and read 2 books, studied my Sunday School lesson and
played with the kids. I'm all caught up on the Sponge Bob episodes and Wonder Pets too. What ever happened to Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster ? Where is the "educational" in kid's TV today?
I caught a TV rerun of Wife Swap and told Emily it was a clean family show and she questioned how "Wife Swap" could be a family show.
We watched about half of Benjamin Button before we had to go to bed. The other half will be something to look forward to.
Yesterday we celebrated Sophia and Savannah's 4th birthday with a Cowgirl/Cowboy Bash.
Crazy!!!
Now, I'm off to the shower and the suitcase packing. I only brought carry on so it was easy to forgo shopping until I hit Las Vegas on my way home. Emily will take me to Fort Collins Colorado this morning and I'll fly back to Vegas where Nathan will pick me up and I'll drive home to see my Honey.
Thanks to my kids for being so good to me!

A bunch of my granddaughters took turns wearing it during our Mother's Day Breakfast.

Lady's Pony

Early Saturday morning we heard someone knocking on the back door. Chuck found Bryn on the porch asking for help. She said that Lady had a baby and they couldn't get the baby to eat any grain.
What excitement!
Lady is a mustang horse that Uncle Reed bought years ago at a BLM wild horse sale.
She has been in our back field for several years eating the pasture grass. This is the first pony she has had (in captivity at least).
The grandkids are quite sad that Hirschi's get the pony and not us. Richard's stallion is the daddy of the pony so that's why they get her. Who came up with that rule of doing things anyway? Just so Reed and Richard are good with it I guess.
Back to the grain story. I think that Sara was in the field trying to get Lady to come eat out of the grain bucket so that she could get close enough to identify the sex of the pony. Being the protective mother, Lady didn't let Sara or the kids get close.

It's been a year now since we all posted our tributes on your new blog. Another year of watching you being patient with the Grandkids, helping me solve my problems, pulling together family get togethers, making sure we're all taken care of, being a good example to us all, and supporting us in whatever we are doing.
